The examination to enter university in France(a.k.a. baccalaureat) is very different from Taiwan. The students of three different groups -- Literature, Economics/Social studies and Science -- all need to attend the philosophy exam. The students have 4 hours to answer the questions. These are some questions from the exam:
1.What will working bring to us?
2.If the nation didn't exist, would we have more freedom?
3.Is the value of work only "to be useful"?
French people test their students if they know how to think and reason out things. We test our students if they memorize enough knowledge.
